Resume making your offer , if the page does not update immediately. I went through this with my girl not too long ago. It will be in length. I still prefer the 5T, though, because the styles are so much cuter.

I found there was a lot of trying at first then I got an idea how things were cut in places I shop often. I have a boy and a girl and I find that pants need he most attention to fit for both.
Shirts I just get them a little big. From my experience, I have found the size 5 pants to be a little longer and a more slender fit than 5T. I switched my girls out of the toddler sizes around age 4 because the girls sizing fit them better very slender and long legs.
My son just turned 4 and he'll be getting boys sizes instead of toddler now, too. My son is on the same transition too. I've also found some size 5 S shirts fit him well too.
But he is so skinny that he can still wear some 3T shorts!! Someone who deals in kids clothes once told me that there really is no such thing as a 5T - guess she doesn't shop at Target. Like all clothes, every brand is going to run a little differently, so it's tough to find something that fits well. One word of warning that I've noticed is that the Target brand clothes a lot of times run either really big or really small in the waist!
It's a bit maddening to bring shorts or pants home and have them not fit well, so I've given up on those brands, even though the prices are so affordable.
I went through this with my girl not too long ago. She went through 4 and 5's in one summer and by the time school started in the fall she was in 6's. Like others have said I think the "T" gives room for a daiper. That's the conclusion I came to. Although, I shopped in the toddler section as long as possible. The 5T's are cheaper and I have a hard time finding something I would let my little girl wear in the little girl section. I HAVE to shop in the little girls section now, but many of the cloths out there disgust me.
I wouldn't let my teenager wear some of that much less my 5 year old!
