Thanks x 1 Agree x 1 List. Sep 3, at 2: Sve , Sep 3, Feb 2, Messages: Jan 29, Messages: Not sure how you're covered insurance wise, but a tracked item is really what it's described as. Any sorting office, or postman it's passed on by, it's tracked at that point barcode scanned I collect our sorting offices mail, all tracked items are scanned into bags which I then take to small delivery office, where they are scanned into the office all individually, then postie scans the item at delivery point.
Small point, not all tracked items require a signature on delivery. Sep 3, at 3: IronGiant , Sep 3, Jun 7, Messages: Once you stick it in the post it should be his responsibility, so he's probably not as bothered having it signed for at his end as it's tracked than he was at yours.
Agree x 1 List. Slightly off topic but lots of Amazon parcels are now delivered as scanned delivered scanned by postie at delivery point on a PDA Royal Mail getting a little bit more with the times,as most couriers provide this service. Word is it'll be widely utilised coming up to Christmas. Sep 3, at 6: NorvernRob , Sep 3, Apr 23, Messages: It says 'Tracked 24' in the link, but there doesn't appear to be a barcode to scan which is strange.
Not only that but 'Tracked' items have a 't' postmark. All I can think of is that the business licence number is used, but never having had any dealings with that side of the business I really don't know. It should actually be irrelevant though, as the company has paid the return postage then the contract with Royal Mail is theirs not yours.
If it went missing then it's not your responsibility to chase it up. Well spotted, completely missed that.
